We over here at Community Buzz are large supporters of the 3/50 Project. After all, the small businesses in our communities are a large part of what makes our community work. They do their part not just in providing fantastic goods and services but by supporting fundraisers, being resources for community members, and meeting the needs of our community. Let’s help give back this holiday season by supporting our local economy and in turn helping to keep these small businesses running.
According to the 3/50 Project, “For every $100 spent in a locally owned, independent store, $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures. If you spend that much at a national chain, only $43 stays here.”
So, before you head out the door on Black Friday, when you are brainstorming and writing down your lists of people to buy for, keep in mind the small businesses that help your community every day. Head out on Small Business Saturday and support them or find another time during the season to stop in, chat awhile, and buy something special and local. We would miss these businesses if they weren’t here!

The wheel to the future is moving locations and will be taped at THE SUNNYBROOK BALLROOM starting December 5 th.
