So tonight the kids and I took a nice drive over to Glick’s Greenhouse for their Annual Poinsettia Show. This is something that I have heard about so many times in the last couple of years but have never been. Anyway, we had an extra hour in our day and thought we would check it out. I am SO glad that we did.
We pulled up to a crowded parking lot at 4 in the afternoon…this had to be good!
The theme this year was Christmas in New York. As soon as you walk in the door, you are taken on a tour of wreaths that were created by local businesses and high school students, sticking to the theme. It was really fun to see the community involved and the kids especially liked picking out the winners with the prize ribbons attached.
Everything went along with the theme. There were window displays from Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, etc. There was Chinatown, your classic NYC taxi cab, a red carpet with a dressing area for the kids to play fashion show, and even a tribute to The World Trade Center. A beautiful mural of central park was painted and surrounded an artificial ice skating pond. And the Statue of Liberty stood in the center of a poinsettia display filled with red, white, and blue (yes blue) poinsettias. The kids even got to sit for a few moments in the audience of a beautiful pianist that was providing the entertainment while they ate their complimentary, fresh popped popcorn!
We enjoyed every second of this experience from the time that we entered the greenhouse door until the time that we walked out (of course with two book marks and some mini poinsettias in hand). My only regrets were that a) I have missed the last 5 years of this and b) I didn’t go earlier in the weekend so that I could tell everyone I knew to go sooner! Glick’s Greenhouse Annual Poinsettia Show will certainly be a MUST SEE for us, now taking over as my favorite local holiday experience. I think next year we will try it in the dark. It was beautiful in the middle of the afternoon, I can only imagine how gorgeous it would be with all of the lights on!
As for poinsettias, Glick’s will be open for the rest of the season to purchase these beautiful flowers. They have all different varieties, so make sure to check them out!
Glick’s Greenhouse is located at 57 Fisher Mill Rd. in Oley, PA.

Thanks for the review, I’ve seen the signs for years too, but never got there. Will definitely go next year!
I feel the same way! I am so glad I went this year. You definitely need to check it out next time:) Thanks for reading!
